Dear readers,
Two parts of my brain are actively engaged in a civil war. There’s the side of me that’s a silly comedian and joke writer (woah, check out my IMDB). And then there’s the part of me that wants to be taken seriously. A prime example of this split would be the two newsletters I’ve launched: which is named after one of my most popular standup jokes, and where I’ve attempted to write serious science fiction.
Sci-fi is my favorite genre. A few years ago, I dipped a toe into that space with my Maurice on Mars animated web series. Now, I’m bringing back from its hiatus and releasing monthly short stories in a series titled The Alternate Timeline of Morgan Stern (available to all for free).
More about Morgan Stern here.
There will also be a series of stories for paid subscribers called Quantum Feast —
— and if you are or become a paid subscriber to Letters from African America, all you need to do is drop me a message or reply to a post saying that you’d like access to them.
That’s it!
The newsletter you’re currently subscribed to is for jokes, the You Are The Genre podcast, and random personal insights…
is for trippy sci-fi tales…
And your paid subscription to either is transferable to the other if you wish it to be.
Perhaps, one day, these two parts of my brain will sign a peace treaty. I hope you find some balance in yours as well.
Best,
Tim
