• Today, Vice President Harris is holding an event in Ripon, Wisconson — home to the Little White Schoolhouse, where an 1854 meeting led to the formation of the Republican Party. The unlikely campaign stop gets more perplexing, as the only item on her schedule is “discovering the lost amulet of abolitionist/Republican party co-founder Zachariah Chandler,” who conducted his own lifelong search for, “the lost mustache above my lip.”

  

• FEMA doesn’t have enough funding to make it through the rest of the hurricane season. To remedy this, agency workers are attempting to forge a missile out of the remaining aid to sell to Israel.

• Cassettes are making a comeback, but manufacturers have largely stopped making tape decks — forcing youngsters to tape over their parents’ old mixtapes. Say goodbye to love songs from the radio, and hello to “Portions Of The Joe Rogan Experience That Made Me Think Of You.”

• Gmail’s new ‘summary cards’ find useful links and info buried in your emails. Most useful, of course, for people snooping to see if their partner is cheating. “Thanks, Google! Summary cards of nudes are easier to digest than the real thing!”

Finally…

• College students used Meta’s smart glasses to dox people in real time. Explaining the latest slogan for the glasses: “Robocop is brat.”
