• Bob Woodward’s new book reveals that Trump has secretly spoken with Vladimir Putin several times since leaving office. Meanwhile, Putin and Trump are relieved at finally knowing the source of all that heavy breathing, mumbling and note taking they heard in the background of their phone calls.

• Both Trump and Harris are pouring more resources and time into Pennsylvania than any other state — leaving many Pennsylvanians asking, “Wait, do you think the hurricane is hitting us?”

• A CBS morning-show interview about Israel with co-host Tony Dokoupil and author Ta-Nehisi Coates has triggered turmoil inside the network. Shocked by Dokoupil’s angry tone and demeanor, CBS is installing surprise checkpoints throughout the office wherein security can interrogate all hosts or people who have a family history of hosting for proof of good mood.

• The White House started posting on Reddit to talk about Hurricane Milton. Insiders report repeated instances of President Biden shouting at the digital team, “Come on, Jack! Hustle up and gather more karma points. There’s a storm out there for Gosh sakes!”

Finally…

• Qantas Airways issued an apology after an R-rated film reportedly aired on every screen during a flight. But many parents say that isn’t enough since what started with their children watching the film and asking, “What is that?” led to the adults looking at each other and shouting, “Why don’t WE ever do that?!”
