• Sacramento will soon give low-income Black and Native American families $725 a month, no strings attached. Possibly related: String sales have skyrocketed in white communities surrounding Sacramento.

• Homeland Security will be the first federal agency to incorporate generative A.I. in its work, including to help combat drug and human trafficking. The agency is already collaborating with local Chicago authorities to find this drug-lord:

  

• A volcano in Iceland has erupted for the fourth time in 3 months. And its partner is now the most popular volcano on the block.

Finally…

• A top US economist says that AI will 'destroy employment in some areas' — but avoided question of whether he is simply vending machine wearing glasses.
