Hey, happy Thursday. Here are Five Jokes!
Y’all hear about this?..
While releasing Netflix’s Q2 earnings results, Ted Sarandos insisted that studios didn’t want a strike. He followed this up by stating, “I was raised in a union household.” Talk about a disruptor! He just invented the new version of “I have a Black friend.”
The co-chief executive officer of Netflix saying “I was raised in a union household” is like Anakin Skywalker pausing to say “Hey, did you know I grew up in this Jedi Temple?” while murdering everyone in it. Come to think of it, Anakin has a lot in common with Sarandos. Wasn’t Darth Vader co-chief executive officer of the Galactic Empire?
Medieval Times is attempting to bust newly-formed unions in their Buena Park, CA location. They’d typically use dragons to smoke them out, but they’ve been with SAG since Game of Thrones.
Florida approved Black history standards in K-12 schools that will include language stating “slaves developed skills which ... could be applied for their personal benefit." I mean, sure, I suppose that’s true… if those skills include running away from plantations and hiding your scent from bloodhounds
Dammit. Now I’m worried that was a more depressing than funny, so… I dunno — here’s a dancing dog!
The New York Times reports that Google is testing an A.I. tool that can write news articles. The journalists who wrote that piece were later seen hugging while shouting through tears, “This is how they fire us?!!”
Apple is testing an AI chatbot but has no idea what to do with it. Which… sounds a lot like something you’d say right before flirting with your AI chatbot. Hey, Tim Cook, not trying to kink shame, but you might want to have a little chat with HR first.
