• TikTok’s fallout with Universal Music Group is forcing many viral videos to be accompanied by silence. But if you play ragtime music on your own, you’re suddenly watching the world’s strangest slapstick film.

• According to a new weather study, ‘Category 5’ is no longer the scariest number. The decision was made after a group of international scientists heard the Kars4Kids jingle for the first time.

Finally…

• CNN’s new morning strategy is more news, less banter. But I honestly preferred their old morning strategy: Less news, more groggily pivoting every conversation into a debate over what last night’s dream possibly meant.
