A two-parter!
Meta’s AI assistant incorrectly said that the recent attempted assassination of former President Donald Trump didn’t happen. The company has since altered the service so that it correctly adds the phrase “From a certain point of view…” at the end of further statements on the matter.
Hundreds of ads on Meta’s Facebook and Instagram platforms, some as recent as Friday, steer users to online marketplaces for illegal drugs such as cocaine and prescription opioids. The company has since corrected the issue by purchasing those illegal drugs and feeding it to Meta’s A.I. assistant.

THURSDAY: 8-1-2024
Regulators found that Amazon is responsible for defective products sold by its third-party vendors—which include flammable pajamas, faulty carbon monoxide detectors, and hair dryers that could electrocute you. Perfect for the supervillain who needs quick access to increasingly intricate booby traps.
